Here are her tips…

Now that you’ve found the perfect dress it’s time to plan your hair. This should be a fun and relaxing experience and might be one of the only chance you get on your wedding day to sit still and be pampered.  Here are a few tips to  help in the process.

1. Bring IMAGES you LIKE and DISLIKE to your trial or consultation.
What to look for in images:

* Are you drawn to: classic, formal, informal, red carpet, braids, twists, curls
* Look at how accessories are incorporated
* How much curl or wave do you want to see in the back or sides

Let your stylist play a little during the trial and make suggestions. Usually 2-3 styles can be done during the trial to get an idea of how the hair will look on the wedding day. Research different stylists’ online portfolios to see what they have created and what types of styles appeal to them. It is important that you like their idea of style.

2. DRY HAIR is happy hair. Cleanse hair the night before and blow dry or air dry smooth.

Moisture will:

* Create fluffy or limp strands giving way to flyaways
* Unexpectedly increase preparation time
* Weaken curls causing them to fall as hair reverts back to it’s natural texture

1 in 5 brides will still arrive with damp or straight from the shower hair.

Simple Solution:
Plan for a blowout before your style.

Come in the day before for a clarifying treatment, anti aging mask, and a blow out to wear it smooth or with soft waves through the ends. This style inspired by Lauren Bacall is elegant and classic. The flowing locks were worn by this years Academy Award winning Actress, Sandra Bullock along with Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, and Julianne Moore at this years Oscars.

3. CUT/COLOR should happen 1 to 2 1/2 weeks before the wedding. Try not to make any major changes before or up to 6 months after the wedding. Many brides chop off their hair right after the wedding and end up missing it. You are full of emotions and going through a major life change. It might be best to learn a new styling trick before doing something that will take you months/ possibly years to get back.
Cut

* Fresh ends to keep the hair looking healthy and shiny
* Blended layers can help balance waves and distribute curl by adding small ends throughout… think Eva Longoria-Parker
* If small pieces falling loose in the front are desired ask for face framing layers

I heart Bangs:

* They soften the face
* Cover wrinkles, blemishes, and thin areas in the hairline
* Create interest that can be seen in the front in most photos

Color

* Stay natural
* Brighten up or add color defining the curls with a partial highlight/lowlight or a few bits around the face and sides
* Deepen your color with a rich gloss to cover faded ends or old highlights
* Clear shine with a hint of gold or pearl can mask unwanted warm or cool tones

As hair dressers we can help decide on a style, easily solve moisture issues, and mask cut/color flaws , but the best conditions possible are always ideal. I hope this helps make your wedding hair easy, and I hope to see you in the future for any of your hair needs wedding or otherwise.
